Job Summary: This role, under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Manager or Laboratory Director, permits the Medical Laboratory Technician to perform tests requiring limited skill and responsibility and exercise independent judgment minimally, as competency is demonstrated. Accuracy: Maintains acceptable accuracy in-patient, quality assurance, proficiency and competency testing. Critical Thinking: Uses clinical/theoretical knowledge to analyze, investigate, interpret and report lab data. Job Knowledge: Maintains current personal training, education and practice of policies and procedures. Productivity: Practices organizational skills for efficient of time, materials, cost and availability of lab data. Communication: Practices information monitoring, investigation, resolution and hand-off to team members. Performs other duties as assigned. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Maintains acceptable accuracy in patient, quality assurance, proficiency and competency testing. Uses clinical/theoretical knowledge to analyze, investigate, interpret and report lab data. Practices information monitoring, investigation, resolution and hand-off to team members. Practices organizational skills for efficiency of time, materials, cost and completing testing. Maintains current knowledge and practice of WellStar Policies and procedures, including LIS. Required Minimum Education: Associate's Degree Required or meet qualifications as defined by CLIA and the State of Georgia for a laboratory technician. Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): Med Lab Technician (AAB) 1.00 Required Med Lab Technician (AMT) 1.00 Required Med Lab Technician (ASCP) 1.00 Required Additional Licenses and Certifications: For persons who possess the technician qualifications and have recently moved into the state or completed the academic and/or training requirements, they may be temporarily classified once as technicians within 1-1/2 Yrs Required Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 1 year Laboratory experience Preferred Required Minimum Skills: Join us and discover the support to do more meaningful workand enjoy a more rewarding life.
