Position of Post Doctoral Researcher at Mass. Eye and Ear, Boston MA The H&G Wilson ABI lab at the Eaton-Peabody Labs

Harvard University, Boston MA seeks candidates for a postdoctoral position. Our research projects are focused on translational neuroscience applied to Auditory Brainstem Implants (ABI). We are interested in understanding how the central nervous system integrates and adapts to electrical stimulation to restore hearing. This then allows us to propose new devices that will provide better restoration thanks to our collaboration with Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland). We use a multidisciplinary approach combining anatomy, electrophysiology, behavior, and computation in several in-vivo models. The position is fully funded for 3 years starting January 2025 and will provide the opportunity to produce high-impact publications and mentoring in scientific and career development. This project also offers a unique opportunity to work in both Massachusetts Eye and Ear and EPFL as the candidate is expected to travel regularly between the US and Switzerland. If interested, please send a cover letter, CV, and the names of one to three references. Qualifications Ideal candidates will have a PhD in Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, or related fields, and an interest in the neural mechanisms underlying motivated behavioral decision-making. A quantitative background, experience in imaging or electrophysiology, and proficiency in MATLAB/Python are desirable. Experience with in-vivo electrophysiology in large model is a plus. Mass General Brigham Competency Framework

At Mass General Brigham, our competency framework defines what effective leadership "looks like" by specifying which behaviors are most critical for successful performance at each job level. The framework is comprised of ten competencies (half People-Focused, half Performance-Focused) and are defined by observable and measurable skills and behaviors that contribute to workplace effectiveness and career success. These competencies are used to evaluate performance, make hiring decisions, identify development needs, mobilize employees across our system, and establish a strong talent pipeline.
