Position Overview: Verra Mobility is actively seeking a highly motivated Associate Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in collaborating with senior engineers to develop new solutions, support existing solutions, apply system-level design thinking encompassing electrical and mechanical design, and incorporate software automation into hardware development. Essential Responsibilities: Partner closely with senior engineers to innovate and develop new hardware solutions, leveraging expertise in cameras, radars, batteries, and mechatronics. Provide support and enhancements for existing solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Apply comprehensive system-level design thinking, integrating electrical and mechanical design elements into innovative hardware solutions. Incorporate software automation practices to streamline hardware development processes. Utilize software automation tools and methodologies to enhance efficiency in the design, development, deployment, and testing phases of hardware systems. Undertake the design and development phases of hardware systems, focusing on integration, functionality, and optimization of cameras, radars, batteries, and mechatronics. Conduct rigorous testing and evaluation processes to ensure the reliability, performance, and compliance of hardware systems. Analyze test data, troubleshoot issues, and iterate designs to enhance efficiency. Generate detailed technical documentation encompassing design specifications, test reports, and project updates. Present findings and progress reports to relevant teams and management as necessary. Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and advancements in hardware components. Contribute to ongoing research efforts to identify opportunities for hardware improvement and innovation. Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. 2-5 years' experience in hardware engineering, a focus on cameras, radars, batteries, and mechatronics preferred. Strong expertise in hardware design principles and methodologies. Proficiency in CAD software and experience with simulation tools for design and analysis is highly desirable. Excellent team player with demonstrated abilities to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely. Keen interest in innovation, problem-solving, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for hardware enhancement and optimization. Must be located in Phoenix Arizona and be willing to commute to our Phoenix warehouse.
