Associate Dean Position at The Center for Academic Success & Enrichment (CASE)

The Center for Academic Success & Enrichment (CASE) is seeking an Associate Dean to lead and manage academic support services on the Boston Campus. This role provides visionary leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight for student academic support services to ensure high levels of student retention, academic performance, persistence, and graduation. The Associate Dean leads the advising, academic support, and tutoring services on the Boston Campus fostering academic achievement, student engagement, and equitable outcomes for diverse student populations. This position collaborates extensively with faculty, academic departments, career services, student affairs, and institutional leadership to align academic support initiatives with the University's mission and strategic goals. Leadership and Supervision (50%)

Provide leadership that fosters CASE teamwork, staff development, and employee engagement to the functional areas of the department: academic advising/coaching, academic support/tutoring, first-year transition, and success initiatives. Manage all CASE staff hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation. Serve as the crisis management liaison with Student Affairs. Serve as a resource for faculty regarding issues related to academic support and assistance. Lead Faculty Mentor Program in concert with each academic school. Provide strategic planning, assessment, and management of the CASE in alignment with the University's Strategic Plan. Provide expertise and leadership to implement student surveys and evaluation tools that support effective retention initiatives. Student Achievement & Success (25%)

Work closely with the Associate Provost for Student Achievement and Success to develop and implement student engagement and academic success strategies. Utilize feedback from academic units and CASE team to develop initiatives and programs to improve undergraduate student retention and graduation rates. Lead efforts in early alert systems, academic probation interventions, and at-risk student outreach in coordination with other University departments and programs. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs that support student learning, academic persistence, and degree completion. Oversee the Early- and Mid-Semester Warning Systems on the Boston campus; and collaborate with the Director of Academic Services Worcester/Manchester on this program for consistency University-wide. Ensure effective mentoring and advising for students referred to CASE by academic units, faculty, and staff. Partner with faculty and academic leadership to identify and address barriers to student success through targeted interventions and data-informed strategies. Ensure department staff deliver academic success workshops and other programming for students of concern. Oversee the implementation of academic policies and procedures. Oversee and manages the University's Student of Concern process in collaboration with the Student Affairs Office. Responsible for the development, execution, and assessment of programs for academic success and enrichment; this includes advising, study skills, time management, and peer mentoring. Administration and Operations (25%)

Oversee the daily operations of the CASE Boston, providing staff guidance and administrative decision-making where needed. Serve as a champion for the Student Success Hub (SSH) customer relationship management system. Collaborate with the SSH Platform Manager to maximize the system functionality and to support the effective implementation of its features. Manage data analysis and assessment tools to perform ongoing assessments of student success programming effectiveness for domestic and international students. Develop assessment tools that track students' progress and engagement in their academic programs. Maintain up to date information on academic programs, policies, and procedures; and ensure accurate information is communicated to staff and students. Ensure proactive collaboration with the offices of Admission, Registrar, Career Services, Student Financial Services, Student Affairs and academic units in the administration of CASE operations. Develop executive reports based on program utilization and results to evaluate effectiveness of academic coaching with respect to student performance and retention. Analyze data and outcomes to assess program effectiveness and inform decision-making; provide regular reporting to senior leadership. Oversee the development and dissemination of CASE communication content and material. Manage departmental budgets, including preparation of annual budget requests, ongoing budget monitoring, and effective allocation of funds.
