Manager of Coding and Billing

The Manager of Coding and Billing is responsible for the leadership, development, coordination, implementation and oversight of the charge entry and billing functions. The Manager will conduct and monitor charge behavior analysis to ensure maximized and accurate charge capture and revenue recognition. They are responsible for ensuring the routine auditing of patient accounts to verify that all potential revenue is recognized and to provide re-education as needed to scribes, providers as well as RCM staff. What You Will Be Working On: Set metrics and executes action plans to achieve industry benchmarks Monitors and prioritizes work based on organizational needs and assignments Stays abreast of coding and billing guidelines to ensure that the organization is compliant with latest requirements Monitors coding and billing related denials to identify areas of focused audits for workflow or educational updates Provides denial trending to Sr Manager with remediation plans of targeted workflow optimization Ensures turn around time (TAT) for each location is within the specific metric and provides remediation plans to ensure outliers get back in compliance Leadership and Management: Leads, promotes and executes in integration and unification of revenue cycle functions Establish and enforce workflow processes that achieve targeted KPIs Develop and coach colleagues and staff to improve performance, raising the competency of the organization and ensuring continuity of all critical accounts receivable activities Monitors staff productivity and provides the necessary support to help ensure all staff achieve expectations Conducts monthly audits of staff's work to identify areas of additional education or workflow optimization Communication and Working Relationships: Works cross-functionally to develop and manage an efficient and effective collection process Responds to inquiries from leadership, Operations, staff or physicians in a timely and appropriate manner Shares metric performance with RCM leadership to educate and create foundation for continuous process improvement Coordinate communication to assigned staff on productivity standards, quality standards, policies and procedures as well as corporate standards Provides education and training to scribes, providers as well as RCM staff on coding and billing guidelines Expertise: Actively understands payer and regulatory trends with the ability to develop strategies with appropriate leaders to activate tactics to mitigate risks Remains current with governmental, payer and organizational policy changes applicable to all states in which services are provided Experience and Knowledge: 5+ years of progressive responsibility in supervision or management related to coding and billing, charge capture or revenue recognition Excellent knowledge of governmental and 3rd party billing requirements Ability to deal with a variety of tasks simultaneously in a face-paced environment Manage priorities while maintaining a professional demeanor Demonstrate sound judgment and leadership skills Education and Skills: Coding Certification required - CPC, CCS or COC High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred in business, health administration or accounting Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suites with advanced Excel capabilities Kronos, AllScripts, Nextech, Payer Path experience preferred What you will receive: Competitive wages Robust benefit package including medical, dental, life and disability (short- and long-term) insurance Generous paid time off (PTO) program Seven (7) company paid holidays 401(k) retirement plan with company match An organization focused on People, Passion, Purpose and Progress Inspirational culture Midwest Vision Partners was founded in 2019 to build a premier eye care platform in partnership with Alpine Investors, a San Francisco-based private equity firm.
