Job Summary
Under the supervision of an Audiologist, the Audiology Extern will be responsible for diagnostic testing, AABR, OAE, cochlear implant evaluations/programming, BAHA evaluations/programming, hearing aid evaluations/fitting/follow ups, ABR (sedated and non-sedated), VNG testing, hearing aid walk-in clinic, and any other testing and/or procedures as indicated by the Audiologists. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Performs diagnostic testing on pediatrics and/or adults. Proficient in hearing aid evaluations, programming, and checks. Assists within cochlear implant and BAHA evaluations, activations, and follow ups. Performs automated ABR (AABR) and ABR (sedated and non-sedated) testing with the assistance of the Audiologist when needed. Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills in regards to equipment/order processing and making appropriate suggestions for follow up with Audiologists. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education
Bachelors Other Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Additional License(s) and Certification(s)
Required Minimum Experience
Must be actively enrolled in and have successfully completed at least 2 years in Graduate Audiology Doctoral Program. Required and Required Minimum Skills
Capability to perform diagnostic audiological evaluations. Basic knowledge of hearing aids. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
