Home Inspector Position
A growing national company is seeking individuals to join a team of professional home inspectors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, articulate, outgoing, personable, and presentable, and follows the standard process to complete an accurate, thorough quality home inspection and detailed report. The inspector is required to have a basic knowledge of residential home systems and elements and is expected to work in various weather conditions, climb ladders, walk on roofs, access crawl spaces and attics, and stand for long periods of time. Solid computer technology skills are necessary for report writing and communications. The ideal candidate stays current on the latest company initiatives, policies, and procedures, while continually developing advanced technical knowledge in building science. Punctuality, the ability to work independently, and a strong work ethic are also required. Salary based on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities include: Travel to home inspection site Suggest possible improvements and discuss potential code violations Review plans ensuring they meet building codes and local ordinances Inspect plumbing and electrical for code violations and issue violation notices Keep daily logs, write up reports and take photographs Qualifications and requirements include: 2+ years of construction, real estate, or home repair experience required Strong understanding of building codes, laws, and government regulations Degree in construction preferred Valid driver's license Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude Physically fit for climbing ladders, walk on roofs, access crawl spaces and attics, and stand for long periods of time Able to lift 50 lbs May be required to enter homes that contain allergens such as pets, dust, mold, or other Benefits and perks include: Extensive training/Field training Paid for certification Competitive compensation + bonus opportunities Flexible schedule Company vehicle provided/Mileage reimbursements HouseMaster has been providing quality home inspections for buyers, sellers, and agents since it was first founded in 1979.
