Buyer Assistant

The Buyer Assistant will be responsible for maintaining procurement records in accordance with corporate guidelines. The role involves discussing defective or unacceptable materials or service levels with users, suppliers, and others to determine root cause and corrective action, resolving payment issues, and collaborating with internal customers to develop business requirements and improve processes. Additionally, the Buyer Assistant will solicit quotes, support and execute supplier and commodity strategies to support plant procurement and manufacturing operations, and participate in technical reviews with suppliers and internal teams. Travel may be required to supplier facilities and plant manufacturing locations. Responsibilities

Maintain procurement records in accordance with corporate guidelines. Discuss defective or unacceptable materials or service levels with users, suppliers, and others to determine root cause and corrective action. Resolve payment issues. Collaborate with internal customers to develop business requirements and improve processes. Solicit quotes and support supplier and commodity strategies. Participate in technical reviews with suppliers and internal teams. Travel to supplier facilities and plant manufacturing locations as required. Essential Skills

Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures. Knowledge of automotive prototype commodities and services. Research skills. Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to quickly analyze data and present conclusions. Self-starter, highly organized, pays attention to details. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is a plus, with a preference for Procurement or Supply Chain Management. Procurement experience is a plus, with automotive industry experience preferred. Financial analysis experience preferred. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
