This project is located in Harriman, TN and requires mobilizing to the site for project duration. Onboarding will take place at world headquarters in Overland Park, KS. Union or union management experience is strongly preferred. Survey experience on large power or industrial sites is highly preferred. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Surveyor / Survey Party Chief with 10+ years of progressive surveying experience, including significant leadership roles on large construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical knowledge of surveying practices, strong leadership abilities, and proven success managing field survey operations in large-scale, complex construction environments. The successful candidate will oversee survey operations, manage field crews, ensure technical accuracy, and coordinate closely with engineering and construction teams to support successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities

Field Operations: Lead and supervise field survey crews, including layout and construction stakeout for complex civil, structural, and mechanical components. Perform high-precision layout utilizing robotic total stations, GPS, and digital levels. Oversee collection of as-built data, topographic surveys, and verification of design coordinates. Ensure quality control and accuracy of survey data in support of construction activities. Technical Leadership: Interpret and execute work based on construction drawings, design data, and specifications. Prepare, review, and maintain accurate survey records, field notes, and reports. Coordinate and review survey calculations, alignments, and cut sheets. Manage survey data in CAD and other digital formats, ensuring proper data management and transfer. Project Coordination: Collaborate with engineering, construction management, and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate layout and reporting. Provide technical expertise during constructability reviews, planning, and problem-solving discussions. Support development of survey plans, methods, and sequences to optimize field operations. Equipment and Safety: Oversee calibration, maintenance, and proper use of survey equipment. Implement safety policies and procedures, completing required safety documentation. Ensure all field survey operations comply with project safety standards and regulatory requirements. Supervisory Duties: Supervise, train, and mentor junior survey staff and technicians. Schedule and assign tasks to optimize crew efficiency and project progress. Track crew performance and maintain productivity metrics. Preferred Qualifications

Associate's or bachelor's degree in surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Extensive experience managing survey operations on large projects. Proficiency with: Robotic Total Stations (e.g., Trimble, Leica) GPS survey systems AutoCAD Civil 3D Survey data collectors and processing software. Advanced knowledge of: Construction methods, sequencing, and tolerances Interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications Industrial relations and union workforce management Strong skills in: Communication and collaboration Problem-solving and conflict resolution Time management and prioritization Risk assessment and mitigation. Familiarity with: EPC contract structures and subcontract management Cost control, budgeting, and scheduling Company construction guides, standards, and best practices Minimum Qualifications

8+ years experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on equivalent projects. Valid Driver's License. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Certifications

OSHA 10 certification. Work Environment/Physical Demands

Physical Demands: Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas. See and hear naturally or with correction. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties. Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure. Requires repetitive movement. May require work above 5 feet in height. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. Work Environment: Typical construction site environment: Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions. Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc. Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Work around hazardous equipment. Typical office environment. This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
