Adjunct Faculty Positions
The School of Computing (SoC) at Montclair State University invites applications for multiple adjunct faculty positions across a wide range of computing disciplines. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, collaborative academic environment, leveraging Montclair's strategic New Jersey location to shape the future of computing education and support the evolving demands of the workforce. The SoC is dedicated to delivering a conceptual, theoretical, experimental, and experiential computing curriculum that includes labs and community-engaged, project-based learning. Our mission is to serve students from all backgrounds and learning needs by fostering inclusive, high-impact educational experiences. We are especially interested in candidates who can bring real-world industry perspectives to undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and who are passionate about mentoring students, cultivating innovation, and guiding their academic and professional growth. Candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of industry-aligned programs, including certificates, micro-credentials, and online master's-level courses. We welcome collaborative, adaptable team players who are excited to support and advance new initiatives within the School. Qualifications
Required
A Master's degree in a relevant field is required. Extensive industry experience in areas such as programming, software engineering, cybersecurity, and other foundational or advanced computing topics. Demonstrated alignment with industry standards and certifications in fields such as cybersecurity, software engineering, and data science. Preferred
Python, Java and C programming Algorithmic and Inferential Thinking Linux and Operating Systems Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Database Design and Development DevOps Engineering Software Construction and Testing Software Verification and Reliability Cyber Threat Modeling and Analysis Cyber Defense and Resiliency Cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS) Discrete Structures and Applied Calculus Statistics using Python or R Ideal candidates will also demonstrate a strong interest in developing and delivering cutting-edge courses that reflect current industry trends and certification requirements.
