The Catering and Events Manager drives, manages, and executes catering and event operations for New York City Momofuku restaurants. This role is part of the Momofuku Operations team and, as such, works closely with all corporate and restaurant teams to coordinate and execute catering & event operations both in and outside of our restaurants. This includes all aspects of catering and event operations, with an emphasis on event sales and client outreach. This role is responsible for upholding Momofuku's culture and brand identity across all catering and event operations in order to ensure consistency of brand identity and growth of business. The Catering and Events Manager is an operational role that requires time spent in both in and out of restaurants. This is an interdisciplinary role that requires the ability to effectively communicate with various teams at all levels of the organization. Responsibilities Develop sales strategy to meet budgeted goals Actively pursue, develop, and manage relationships with private event clientele and businesses to promote Momofuku's private event programs Serve as the main point of contact for private event clients Consistently ensure outstanding service to all clients Develop and maintain outward-facing private event-specific materials Manage all aspects of private event sales Assume P&L responsibility for all private and special events Define monthly and quarterly catering/event sales goals Create and adhere to monthly budgets and quotas Lead the execution of all events in East Coast restaurant venues Special Events Plan, coordinate, and execute special events and holiday offerings Assist the Brand Partnerships Manager with external special event partners Execute marketing/promotional campaigns and social media initiatives Work with Executive Chefs and GMs to develop special event opportunities Marketing & Public Relations Execute a yearly marketing plan targeted towards NYC-specific markets Facilitate press opportunities and photo/video shoots Assist the Marketing Team with content generation Develop and maintain relations and actions to ensure ongoing relationship management Assist with website updates Guest Relations Manage and operate the reservation system Maintain professional and warm guest communications Communicate respectfully and clearly with the service team and management Engage management for any guest issue or complaint Maintain cleanliness and organization in all spaces Perform additional operational tasks as determined by manager Adhere to grooming and dress code standards Assist restaurants for events as needed onsite Skills & Requirements BA degree or equivalent required 3+ years of related experience required 3+ years of supervisory experience required Detail-oriented self-starter Proven track record of successful sales Outstanding organizational skills Strategic thinker Strong action orientation/execution Familiarity in the NYC community, network, and strong understanding of NYC-specific markets highly preferred Ability to work independently and to handle multiple priorities & activities A positive and enthusiastic attitude, as well as a desire to learn, grow, and develop new skills Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest conflict Willing to accept guidance in a positive manner and implement the direction in a way that is productive for both you and the team Ability to demonstrate strategic, adaptable, and quick thinking and in a constantly changing environment Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of Event Management experience in a multi-unit restaurant/event group 2+ years of restaurant service experience 1+ years of Tripleseat experience Microsoft 365 and Opentable reservation system fluency Proven experience with upholding relationships with guests to rebook events A proven track record of dependability and a continuous focus on learning and development Physical Demands Seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours The duties of this position may change from time to time.
