Job Summary/Description
Directs student success programs designed to support enrolled engineering students. Oversees engineering student outreach and recruitment programs with community colleges and K-12 schools.
Typical Duties/Job Duties Develops, directs, and continuously improves student success programs for engineering students. Collects data on engineering students success. Develops risk assessment reports for key classes of at-risk students. Develops and delivers appropriate intervention, including referrals to support services, for at-risk students, and monitor their progress. Manages engineering student hub. Recruits, hires, trains and supervises students in roles such as peer mentors, tutors, and supplemental instruction leaders. Develops and maintains engineering advising and recruiting programs with community colleges and high schools. Participates in research and grant preparation related to engineering student success. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of engineering educational programs and curricula Knowledge of educational research related to performance of at risk students Ability to create and manage active, innovative programs to support the academic success of engineering students Ability to create and manage engineering outreach programs targeted at community colleges and other transfer students Ability to work effectively with internal and external offices and organizations for student recruitment Ability to perform formative and summative assessment of student success and apply results to improve programs Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical skills Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in any field plus 4 years of experience working in an education support role Experience working with a broad range of people and organizations Preferred Qualifications
Fluency in Spanish Masters degree in education or student affairs programs
