Job Position - Dental Assistant (Bilingual, part-time)

(Part-time, hourly, non-exempt, administrative, and at-will)

Location- Midtown

Position Description:

This position supports the Crossings Community Dental Clinics clinically (patient care and clinic care) and administratively, within the scope of our clinic ministry. This role shares in coordinating, nurturing, training and delegating responsibilities to volunteers while exhibiting strong spiritual gifts of discernment, compassion, teaching and encouragement. This position reports to the Dental Director at Crossings Community Clinic Midtown. Responsibilities:

Patient care including Maintain a welcoming and encouraging environment for patients Ensure dental assistant coverage for all dentists, including chairside assistance and all duties ethically and legally delegable to dental assistants (ex: radiographs) Infection control: Strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations Train and monitor volunteers in infection control

Interpretation (Spanish and English)

Clinic care including equipment, supplies, lab cases, etc Administrative support including Use of EagleSoft Provide clinical forms (ex: consent forms) HIPAA compliance Patient referrals Professional, collegial relationships with outside providers

Working with volunteers Train dental volunteers Orient new dental volunteers Infection control and other updates for dental volunteers Provide visible checklists for clinic duties

Maintain a welcoming and encouraging environment for volunteers Delegate projects and tasks to volunteers, matching volunteer interests and abilities with clinic needs

Crossings Community Clinic support including Work as a ministry team member Minister to patients and volunteers Participate in CCC, Crossings Midtown, and Dental staff meetings Cross-train non-dental staff in dental assistant responsibilities Assist with inventory, policy review, grant writing, and reports

Support the leadership of CCC, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and patients Maintain the highest possible clinic standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose, and Core Values of Crossings Community Clinic Complete any other duties or tasks to accomplish responsibilities as may be needed or assigned to fulfill the needs, mission and goals of the Clinic

Responsibilities are encouraged to be delegated to volunteers as often as appropriate.

Commitment:

Part-time, hourly position Hours: 8am-12:30pm Monday and Tuesday; 8am-1:30pm Wednesday. Actual days and hours of work are subject to Clinic needs or special events, which may require schedule flexibility including days, hours, and locations beyond or different from a typical work week. Organizational Relationships:

This position reports to and is supervised by the Dental Director at Crossings Community Clinic Midtown. It also will work collaboratively and interact regularly with various vendors, CCC staff and volunteers across the various departments and ministries, and locations, as well with partners of the Clinic to accomplish the goals and mission of the Clinic.

Ability to meet the physical and work environmental demands of the job and perform all essential job functions Be able to stand up for 4 hours, walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile), and be able to lift and carry 10-20 pound parcels for distances of up to 500 feet Possess a current unrestricted driver's license Ability to travel between locations as assigned Education / Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Oklahoma Dental Assistant Permit Dental assistant experience preferred, x-ray experience preferred Fluent spoken Spanish; fluent spoken and written English Radiology certification preferred, required within first month of employment Experience in non-profit, clinic or community clinic preferred Sustain "good standing" membership within a like-minded Faith Community Maintain a vibrant relationship with Christ through prayer, Bible study, regular worship attendance and Christian fellowship
