Senior Analyst, Statutory Accounting and Reporting

The Senior Analyst, Statutory Accounting and Reporting, will join the Statutory Accounting and Reporting team in Des Moines to prepare and analyze the statutory financial statements, management reports and related financial statement disclosures. Candidates must be active team members, interacting with local and multi-state personnel to ensure adequate control and reconciliation of information posted to GAFG's ledger. Other interactions include working with the Actuarial, Investment, Reinsurance, Tax, Legal and Compliance teams. Key responsibilities will include: Learn on the job about statutory reporting, reinsurance transactions, accounting for investments, capital requirements, and regulatory filing process. Prepare journal entries within the close process cycle and reconcile ledger to source information, research/explain fluctuations in financials and prepare analysis and commentary on key business drivers Complete monthly assigned balance sheet and/or transaction reconciliations Prepare quarterly and annual schedules included in the filings for a life and health insurance company and contribute to completion of schedules for multiple companies. This includes journal entry preparation/review and coordinating with other departments on work requirements and deadlines Assisting with external audits and examinations by preparing work papers, analyzing data, and preparing SSAP basis financial reports Research and compile information for ad-hoc requests, including life and annuity business analysis, rating agency data compilation, state insurance department inquiries and other departmental requests Collaborate with team members and other departments to help solve problems, research regulatory guidance and inquiries. Identify and implement changes to help improve quarterly and annual schedules Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3-5 years experience in the insurance industry or public accounting Experience in Statutory or US GAAP accounting in a life insurance company preferred Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions from research and report on findings Strong communication skills, work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability Experience with PeopleSoft General Ledger, Business Object Enterprise, Hyperion Financial Management Essbase, Wings, Workiva and Gain preferred KKR is seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial and innovative individual to drive and coordinate liquidity management and transaction funding across our insurance business. The primary focus of this role is to oversee daily liquidity while partnering closely with the KKR Insurance Investments team to ensure that deployment is aligned with cash resources. This position will work collaboratively with the Liquidity Risk Treasury Operations, and Insurance Investments teams to support the development and execution of a robust, proactive and continuous cash management strategy. Key responsibilities: Serve as the centralized coordinator across KKR Insurance Operations, Finance, Treasury, Risk. Including ALM, and Investments teams to ensure that capital deployment aligns with liquidity reporting. Develop a strong understanding of insurance-specific structures and regulatory nuances that can be applied to support effective and efficient transaction execution. Collaborate with the Risk, ALM and Portfolio Construction teams to ensure trust and portfolio allocations remain within defined guidelines and limits as capital is deployed. Partner with the Trading Desk, Investment and Treasury Operations teams to monitor intraday cash positions and ensure deployment strategies are consistent with broader investment objectives. Contribute to the design and implementation of a short-term cash management framework that optimizes cash deployment to balance efficiency and yield generation. Support the ongoing enhancement of liquidity infrastructure, tools and reporting to enable scalable and forward-looking treasury operations. Provide data-driven insights and analysis to inform strategic decision-making related to cash flow and investment pacing. Required experience: 5+ years of experience with cash and liquidity management in an asset management or insurance business Strong understanding of broader treasury operations functions, including liquidity reporting, settlement mechanics, and cash flow forecasting Familiarity with short-term cash markets such as money markets, commercial paper, and related instruments. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with finance, risk, operations, and investment teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail. Effective communicator with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights. Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, ownership-driven approach to solving challenges and improving processes. Ideal experience: Prior experience on a cash trading desk or within treasury operations with a focus on liquidity management and short-term investing and/or experience within fund finance The base salary for this role will be $65,000 - $85,000
