Country View Family Farms LLC d/b/a Clemens Food Group Monitor the barn environment including ventilation, electronic feed system, and watering systems checklists. Oversee the health of the barn including monitoring and assisting sows in farrowing, sow and piglet care and condition, wean placement, fall behind, nurse on and nurse off management. Oversee and administer treatments and vaccinations for sows and piglets. Oversee wean piglet quality. Manage Day 1 Care. Oversee farrowing room set up, initial inspections, create management and pit maintenance. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Utilize Continuous Improvement tools. Manage all aspects of the performance of the farrowing team including training, overseeing daily task assignments and time management. Manage all documentation requirements of farrowing barn including wean paperwork, farrowing record keeping, and Pig Knows reporting. Hold team members accountable for farrowing activities, company policies and key expectations. Ensure animal handling and welfare policies are well implemented and adhered to. 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday Country View Family Farms LLC d/b/a Clemens Food Group, 2547 Hickory Road, Columbia Cross Roads, PA 16914 Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Science, Veterinary Medicine, Sustainable Development or related field of study and six (6) months of experience as a Swine Herdsperson, Veterinarian, Swine Veterinarian, Veterinary Asst., Farm Asst., Agricultural Mgr., Farrowing Tech., Breeding Lead, Animal Care Specialist or rel. role where required exp. gained. Also requires experience in the following: Livestock management. Meet all bio-security requirements as outlined by Animal Care policy/ procedure. Knowledge of Animal Welfare requirements. Ability to tolerate a barn environment, which may include animal dander, manure, dust, blood, odors and frequently noisy conditions. Tracking born alive, pre-wean mortality, and wean pigs per sow metrics. Implementing Farrowing practices to support herd health and sow production requirements.
