Lab Engineer

Intern will be a key intern in doing the foundational research and testing on an AFRL Government Contract. He will learn about government R&D contracts and work hands-on in the lab performing tests and research Work directly with Engineering professionals to assist with conducting research, taking organized notes, and providing technical direction in problem-solving through critical thinking on SBIR and STTR awarded R&D Contracts in Midland, TX. Responsibilities: Take organized notes on experiments, projects, and results Perform evaluations on products and components Provide technical direction in problem-solving through critical thinking Select and learn new lab equipment as necessary Support lean lab process efficiency For each new contract, the student and the company will evaluate the internship and revise the work assignments if necessary. Attire: Lab Engineers are required to have: Steel-toe work shoes Flame Retardant (FR) Clothing in the form of at least one of the following: Overalls Coat Shirt Shirt and Pants Safety Goggles (may be provided by the lab space) Shin or Knee-high socks Professional shirts for non-testing days Jeans or other professional legwear for non-testing days Hourly pay: $18/hr Work type: Hybrid (Midland), Part-Time Intern will work part-time, with all clocked in-person labor hours happening at the Midland Astroport Office.
