Job Title

Under broad supervision, support the accounting, reporting, and financial functions of the department and provide support to the University Manager of Budgets and Internal Controls. You will play a critical role as you assist in providing budgetary analysis during the annual budgetary process and on an ongoing basis. Provide ongoing analysis of the budget versus spending trends in order to better align the budget with operations. Develop and maintain financial metrics to assist the Department in evaluating its financial position and vector. Provide ongoing support of the purchasing process. Promote the use of financial software systems (including Khalix Longview and the appropriate components of Workday Financials) within the Department. Propose solutions to budgeting and purchasing business process gaps Interface with the Human Resources department and provide Human Resources support to Information Technology, specifically with respect to recruiting business process. Provide ongoing administrative support to project management operations. As a member of the department team, provide operational support on an as-needed basis. Requisite Qualifications Typically a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of finance and planning regulation/policy changes and best practices. Minimum 3 years finance or accounting experience in progressively responsible positions which have included accounts payable/receivable functions, purchasing, contract review, and budget analysis. Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of accounting principles, variance reporting, and forecasting. Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in investigations, preparing comprehensive reports including statistical analysis, and executive summaries incorporating complex highly technical information... Highly developed organizational and analytic skills. Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of Workday financial systems.
