Wastewater Technician-In-Training
We are seeking a Wastewater Technician-in-Training for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform inspection, cleaning, maintenance and repair of wastewater collections systems; including sewer lines, manholes, lift stations and related infrastructure. Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm Responsibilities
Performs routine service and corrective maintenance of wastewater collection systems Inspect, clean and maintain sewer mains, laterals, manhole and lift stations Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools and other stationary and portable equipment Performs routine inspections of vehicles and equipment Performs minor maintenance and lubrication of machinery, such as oil changes and greasing equipment Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment and tools that are required to load, unload, haul and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products (i.e., sludge, product waste, packaging waste, etc.) Assist with materials, supplies, and tools to assist collections personnel Maintains grounds, buildings and lift stations; cuts grass, weeds and brush; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass, leaves and trash Complete work orders as requested (i.e., Maintenance Connection, field maps, vision view) Monitors and records meter, control panels and gauge readings Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control, starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow Ability to carry and respond to work orders as requested by management Ability to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner (i.e. after hours, business hours and holidays) Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED A valid Drivers License Familiarity with hand and power tools
