You will apply advanced scientific principles to solve problems, provide technical advice, and guide lower-level professionals. This role in on-site in Johns Creek, GA and a typical day would include: Manage individual technical projects, applying specialized knowledge to achieve objectives and drive innovation in analytical chemistry. Develop analytical methods, validation processes, and quality control procedures. Make operational decisions for projects, utilizing project management skills, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities. Work independently, managing your workload and making decisions within your area of expertise. Engage in problem-solving and process improvement to contribute to the overall goals of your team. Mentor junior colleagues by sharing knowledge and providing guidance on best practices while continuing to expand your own expertise. Responsible for leading the in-depth understanding and characterization of complex polymer materials including physical, metrological, spectroscopic, and imaging technology. Collaborate cross-functionally with project team members to create and refine measurement systems capable of characterizing both nanoscale features and macroscopic in-vitro performance. Solid statistics background (experience with Minitab and/or other advanced statistical analysis packages preferred). What You'll Bring to Alcon: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs). The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English. 5 Years of Relevant Experience. Preferred Qualifications: PhD material science, polymer physics; optical engineering or vision science with 5 years' experience.
