Dual Rate Poker Dealer/ Assistant Pit Supervisor
Job Category: Gaming Operations Pay Rate: $6.31 an hour, plus tips and $27.50 an hour as an Assistant Poker Supervisor Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Efficiently deal the game of Poker by demonstrating excellent math skills to properly take expected amounts from each pot or hand Deal Poker games in accordance with established policies and procedures Provide continuous quality entertainment and service to guests Serve as the first line of defense in the protection of the integrity of the games and table inventory Knowledge and Certification, Skills and Abilities: Required Knowledge and Certification: Proven proficiency in math Minimum of 80 hours in-house Poker training for new dealers, which includes ability to pass written policy tests as well as in-house auditions. Minimum of 8 hours of in-house Poker training for previous experienced dealers, which includes ability to pass written tests as well as in-house auditions. Preferred Knowledge and Certification: Prior dealing experience in the gaming industry Required Skills: Accurate and detail-oriented Excellent written communication skills Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills Excellent problem solving skills Above average math skills Required Abilities: Ability to work fast and efficiently Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner Ability to independently complete multiple tasks in a professional manner Ability to serve both internal and external customers Ability to speak in a clear, concise and pleasant voice Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for long periods of time with moderate amounts of sitting and walking Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and crouch Must routinely be able to push, pull, grip and grasp objects Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions on a daily basis for periods up to 8 hours Must have good eye hand coordination Working Environment: Office, restaurant, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals High volume direct public contact Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
