Quality Control Representative / Inspector 1, Quality Control
Primary Function: Perform first piece inspections, line audits, non-conforming product holds, and statistical sampling to assure that the manufacturing operations are meeting the quality system and product requirements. Additional Duties Include: Provide guidance and input to manufacturing and management for quality issues. Aide in the training of associates to ensure that they are meeting the quality systems and product requirements. Support product complaint investigations and corrective actions. Contribute in continuous improvement activities (i.e. Kaizens, blitz, etc.). Trend quality metrics and investigate specific problem areas to provide corrective action. Apply and interpret ANSI Z1.4 and other sampling plans for predicting percent defective and lot acceptance criteria. Conduct line audits to assure compliance to the quality system. Develop/assist in creating visual instructions. Must be familiar with specifications and documentation associated with operations of this position. Comply with department protective clothing, safety and management policies. Must be familiar with the quality policy and procedures. Must exhibit and portray the BD Values. Assist in validation processes and conduct machine and process capability studies on equipment. Assist and support team and departmental plant needs and goals. Communicate on a daily basis with prior and post shift Quality Control Representatives. Adjustable / flexible work schedule as needed by manufacturing operation requirements. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience. Ability to learn methods of various inspection tests, gauges, etc. Strong team player exhibiting flexibility and leadership, ability to work independently, and ability to communicate clearly with all levels of personnel, including customers and auditors. Ability to speak, read & write English. A resume is required to be submitted with the application. Preferred: Good working knowledge of product and manufacturing processes with ability to interpret drawings and specifications, a plus. Knowledgeable in the fundamentals of quality processes and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Familiar with process control tools, methods, and inspection equipment/tools (i.e. Comparator, SmartScope, Instron, etc.). Fundamentals of Quality System Regulations (QSR) and International Standards of Operation (ISO) regulations desired.
