Aggregate Superintendent

The Aggregate Superintendent will oversee the daily operations and management of multiple sand and gravel locations as well as limestone. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in aggregate production, a deep understanding of safety and environmental regulations, and exceptional skills in team management and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

Operations Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of multiple aggregate operations to ensure consistent and efficient production. Implement and enforce operational procedures, policies, and best practices to optimize productivity and quality. Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Lead safety training programs and promote a culture of safety and accountability among all team members. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of supervisors, operators, and other staff across multiple locations. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment by setting clear goals and expectations. Work directly with HR to handle staffing requirements, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations. Production and Quality Control: Monitor production rates, quality, and efficiency to meet or exceed company standards and customer requirements. Analyze production data and implement process improvements to enhance performance and reduce costs. Collaborate with the Quality Control department to ensure product specifications are consistently met. Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage budgets for each location, including labor, materials, and maintenance costs. Oversee the procurement and allocation of resources to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to achieve budgetary goals. Consistently and accurately manage stockpile inventory. Communication and Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to upper management on operational performance, issues, and improvements. Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to address concerns and maintain positive relationships. Coordinate with other departments, such as logistics and sales, to ensure alignment and support for operational needs. Qualifications: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in aggregate production or a similar industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong knowledge of sand and gravel as well as limestone production processes, equipment, and maintenance. In-depth understanding of safety regulations and environmental compliance related to aggregate operations. Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and locations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations as needed. Foreman's License (Aggregates) Physical Requirements: Ability to work in outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required. Capable of working at heights and in confined spaces as necessary. EOE/M/F/Disabled/Veteran/DFSP
