Senior Product Manager
The Senior Product Manager (SPM) is responsible for the overall growth and profitability of the assigned Product Line. The SPM will manage the product portfolio, ensuring that the product portfolio is competitive in a global market. In addition, the SPM is responsible for ensuring that sales teams have the necessary training and materials to sell Digital products. The SPM will also act as an executive sales representative and meet with high-level customer executives to show the value of ABS Digital product suites. What You Will Do: Vision, Strategy, and Leadership
The SPM is responsible for the overall vision, specification, marketing, adoption, and success of the assigned digital product line. Responsible for creating budgets, statements of work, and execution plans that align with the annual operating plan for the product line. Ensure customer satisfaction by rigorously meeting delivery performance metrics and managing the product lifecycle for enhancements and both major and minor versioning. Incorporate new technologies and capabilities into products. Exercise considerable judgment to make key tradeoff decisions while maintaining a value-based prioritized backlog of opportunities that align with business strategy and goals. Product Roadmap, Backlog, and Requirements
Responsible for the creation, communication, and maintenance of the product roadmap and backlog to ensure visibility, coordination, and transparency of work planned. Work with product sponsors and stakeholders to define the scope, generate detailed requirements, and establish product success criteria/metrics. Develop user stories granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint, elaboration of Epics and Features, and support user and application testing while coordinating release activities. Define clear and measurable acceptance criteria for user stories to ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations and development goals. Lead regular backlog refinement sessions to ensure user stories are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development. Prioritize backlog items based on business value, technical feasibility, and user impact to maximize ROI. Product Development and Delivery
Partner with Design, Engineering, and Management to deliver the product backlog. Assist the product, engineering, and scrum teams during regular ceremonies, including feature reviews, grooming, sprint plans, demos, and retrospectives, while acting as the voice of the customer and communicating the value behind prioritization decisions. Coordinate new and changed functionality with affected business groups via release processes and documentation to ensure seamless rollout of new capabilities. Provide proactive risk management and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle, identifying, monitoring, and managing critical paths, and alerting internal management to significant events, risks, blockers, and changes to forecasts. Stakeholder and Team Collaboration
Gather and integrate stakeholder feedback into the product backlog to continuously improve product features and functionality. Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the organization to communicate status, align priorities, and ensure operational support for go-to-market plans. Engage in constructive conversations with key stakeholders, including senior executives, and deliver tough messages when needed, while continually building professional and productive relationships. Work across ABS groups to cross-sell products and capabilities that enhance overall ABS offerings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and manage dependencies across projects and ensure seamless delivery. Sales, Marketing, and Training
Coordinate and organize the preparation and delivery of operational and technical training to regional teams for ABS digital technologies. Create and maintain training materials and related repositories. Represent ABS Digital product lines to high-level customer managers and executives. Prepare and deliver presentations to customers, industry professional associations, and others to elevate the brand awareness of ABS Data, Analytics, and AI products. Vigilantly pursue internal business opportunities and awareness of industry practices. General Responsibilities
Manage the identification of high-value internal business opportunities that can be met through the development of Data, Analytics, and AI products. Monitor product performance metrics post-release to ensure features meet business objectives and user needs. Deliver results for key product metrics and goals that support business objectives and provide annual lookbacks on product performance metrics. Develop business cases and economic models backed by data. Use product discovery techniques to move from ideas to statements of work and prototype. Work with stakeholders and sponsors to drive and measure end-user adoption. Perform Agile Project Management and Reporting, providing clear and up-to-date project status to management and team constituency. Other duties as assigned. What You Will Need: Education and Experience 5 or more years in the product management of software, data, analytics, and/or data science portfolios. Education may be a partial substitute for direct experience. Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Marketing, Business, Digital Technologies, Engineering, or a related field, in addition to with relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Leadership and team building experience required. Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments. Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written). Experience budgeting, planning and organizing. A proven track record of increasing sales in a completion tool, well construction or liner hanger business. Experience in marine or offshore industries required. Experience in the Azure Dev Ops, Microsoft Project, or equivalent. Experience in working as a part of a multifaceted and cross-functional team. Fluent in at least one Agile software development management process, as well as Waterfall. Experience providing Business Analyst, Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Product Owner functions collectively. Demonstrated effectiveness in aligning customer and business needs in planning, prioritizing, and executing projects. Cross-functional leadership experience coordinating with business stakeholders and engineering. Ability to assign relative priority to various work elements and slot stories to sprints accordingly and maintain a fully groomed backlog at least 3 sprints ahead of planning needs. Ability when required to take a firm position with stakeholders to ensure delivery goals, manage scope, manage customer expectations, and maintain resource and budget commitments. Ability and desire to create and enhance product management processes. Demonstrated effectiveness in delivering clear and detailed user story requirements spanning development and QA. Demonstrated ability to create UAT scripts, make and track assignments, track UAT progress against committed requirements and facilitate it through signoff, and coordinate regression testing as needed. Effective communication with multiple levels of the organization, including product stakeholders, individual contributors, and senior management. Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental (HSQE) Management System.
