As a Senior Precision Optics Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for large-area optical components, ensuring high-performance production for critical applications in the Semiconductor and Aerospace & Defense sectors. Key Responsibilities Develop and refine manufacturing processes for optical components using materials such as glass, ceramics, and crystals. Design and improve tooling, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies for coated and uncoated optics. Improve yields, reduce defects, and lower cost of poor quality (COPQ) while ensuring compliance with MIL and ISO standards. Create detailed manufacturing instructions, process validation records, and ensure adherence to precision manufacturing standards. Lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborate with technical experts, and mentor junior engineers to strengthen team capabilities. Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering 510 years of experience in mechanical design and precision optics manufacturing Strong proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks), mechanical drawings, and GD&T Experience in optical assembly and metrology, including interferometry and CMM Familiarity with MIL/ISO standards and quality systems Skilled in data analysis tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, or equivalent Knowledge of FEA, SPC, and pFMEA Familiarity with Python or similar programming languages Bring your passion, commitment, and curiosity to Zygo, where our valuescuriosity, collaboration, persistence, confidence, problem-solving, and safetyguide every step of our journey.
