Integrated Solutions Engineer I
Integrated Solutions Engineer I (ISE1), under the direction of a manager or above, assists in designing, developing, and implementing software, technology, business solutions, and cross-platform integrations. Works in all project phases and technology layers, including the cloud, server, application, and user interface. Job Function: Develop for and administer UNF's enterprise platforms. Design, develop, and recommend best practices, standards and practices for developer's use of UNF's enterprise platforms. Work with system-to-system integration patterns, including but not limited to batch, change based, event based, subscription-based integrations. Work with integration technologies to configure, script, and/or automate processes. Implement, carry out, and report on monitoring of platform usage, including platform health, platform license compliance, and platform costs. Advise, consult with, and support engineers, developers, and power users to launch new features and provide the best platform environment for the build and execution of solutions. Deploy and support completed solutions to production. Plan, organize, and document work efforts, prioritize multiple projects, and may coordinate and guide the technical efforts of other stakeholders. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off-campus location or place of residence. Marginal Functions: Advises higher management on current trends in information technology that affect the direction and scope of online education systems. Must be able to interpret and apply University policy to our enterprise platforms. Frequent and moderate level of internal business contact with personnel in functional areas for the purpose of determining system functional requirements. Attends meetings of Information Technology Services staff; utilizes staff resources when situations require additional expertise. Departmental Requirements: Familiarity with industry standard integration practices and methods. Experience with common integration technologies, the following all providing direct relevant experience: REST API, SOAP API, Graph API, message bus, delimited file, fixed file, EDI, SFTP, SQL, TSQL, PL/SQL. Experience with any major integration platforms is a plus, the following providing specific relevant experience: Boomi, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services. Familiarity with Service Management platforms, incident management, ITIL. Supervision Received: Minimal supervision of a verbal and/or written nature. Supervisor ensures that person in this position is aware of and adheres to state, University, and departmental policies, standards, and procedures. Policy Making and/or Interpretation: Formulates and recommends higher management policies and procedures required to provide efficient and effective software applications support to the division's technology customers. Program Direction and Development: Advises higher management regarding current trends in application development. Level of Public Contact: Minimal external, moderate internal. Person in position meets with various University personnel and serves on intro-institutional groups and committees as required. May occasionally meet with vendors' representatives.
