Sr Manager, ACO Accounting

Job Summary The Sr Manager, ACO Accounting will oversee the monthly close, financial budget and forecasting, cash flow and reporting for Cano's Medicare ACO Reach and MSSP Programs. They will work collaboratively with the ACO Operations team to understand business priorities and CMS program changes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develop the annual budget and quarterly forecast for ACO, working collaboratively with the ACO Operations team and with FP&A. This includes both margin and administrative expenses. Manage monthly close process, including working closely with external Actuarial firm to understand CMS benchmark, quality metrics and risk adjustment impacts. Develop monthly cash flow forecast, working closely with FP&A team to ensure alignment with total company forecast. Develop annual long term plan for ACO business. Create, educate and analyze financial data by utilizing reporting and analytics to improve financial performance. Work closely with ACO Operations to ensure understanding of provider dynamics/changes. Analyze budget vs actual reporting and explain variances to both ACO Operations and Finance leaders. Participate in strategy sessions with ACO leaders to provide financial support and guidance, as needed. Review CMS program changes to assess financial impact for current year and forecast periods. Lead and manage provider payment calculations and distributions, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Performs other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities Oversee a small team of associates. Recruit, interview, hire, and train associates, as needed. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. Critical Results Provide timely financial data to the organization. Successful management and on-going development of staff and assigned programs. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred. Eight to ten years of experience in healthcare/insurance or related field. Previous experience in Traditional Medicare Programs (MSSP, ACO Reach, CKCC, etc). Experience managing a team and leading thru influence vs direct reporting. Education Requirements Education Level Discipline Required Bachelor/MBA Accounting or Finance Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills recommended Physical Requirements This position works under usual office conditions. The associate is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
