Training And Development Specialist
The Training And Development Specialist demonstrates general knowledge in creating, developing, implementing, and conducting training and development programs for employees. This role requires an individual with strong administrative and people skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach. The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of HR practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other HR professionals and University leadership. Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Provides a supporting role for training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with Organizes and plans various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees and customers. Updates unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills. Makes updates to training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials, reviews training materials prepared by instructors. Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements, Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback. Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development. Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner. Aligns with training and developments strategic plan of implementing a biblical worldview to university training. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission and All other duties assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not require supervision of other employees. Qualifications And Credentials
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Excel and Word. Strong organizational and time management skills. Specialist I 1-2 years of related experience. Specialist II 3+ years of related experience. Master's degree in human resources or related field. Strong presentation skills. Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods. Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives. Ability to design and implement effective training and development. Strong organizational skills. Excellent Computer and scheduling skills. Problem Solving Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Physical And Sensory Abilities
Required to travel to local and campus locations. May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard. Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally. Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus. Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business. Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
