The Director Of Operational Excellence is a critical leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing processes that enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability. This role will focus on creating a "process-first" culture, ensuring that every step in the construction journey is deliberate, efficient, and value-driven. You will work across all departments to establish best practices, leverage data insights, and lead initiatives that make operational excellence a core strength of the business. This role reports to our Chief Operations Officer to align the vision of designing, optimizing and automating processes to scale across the company. On A Given Day, Your Work Might Include
Process Design And Optimization: Develop, document, and implement end-to-end processes across the organization, with a focus on standardization, scalability, and efficiency. Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, reduce costs, and improve cycle times. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with construction, design, sales, and operations teams to align process improvements with business goals and customer needs. Metrics And Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure operational performance and identify areas for improvement. Change Management: Drive adoption of new processes and systems, ensuring successful implementation through training, communication, and stakeholder buy-in. Technology Integration: Work with the technology team to identify and implement tools that support process automation, monitoring, and optimization. Customer Value Enhancement: Focus on processes that enhance customer satisfaction by delivering quality homes on time and at an exceptional value. Training And Development: Build a culture of process excellence by educating teams on methodologies, tools, and the importance of standardization. Innovation Leadership: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies that could further enhance operational excellence. Working Environment & Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent use of a computer, including keyboard functions and visual acuity of 20 inches or fewer on a daily basis. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Be able to lift up to 10 pounds on occasion with or without accommodation. Travel & Vehicle Requirements
Some travel within 10-mile radius. What You'll Need To Succeed
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in process improvement, operations, or a similar role, with at least 5 years of leadership experience. Preferred, certifications in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt), Baldrige or equivalent. Process and business system improvement methodologies. Proven track record of leading successful process optimization initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with the homebuilding or construction industry is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in data analysis and performance measurement tools. This is a full-time position paying $127,795 - $204,474 + discretionary bonuses. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
