Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm Ideal candidate will have experience in assisting in the troubleshooting of BAS, alarms, CARFs, computer systems and HVAC systems. Summary Repair and maintain building and utility equipment, respond to customer calls, provide support to emergencies, subject matter expert, provide leadership and critical thinking. Job Specific Competencies Maintain, repair, troubleshoot - subject matter expert Lead or under limited supervision performs repairs, troubleshooting, routes and preventative maintenance on various equipment, buildings, and utility systems using one or more craft trade skills. Maintains records of materials, jobs, and other pertinent information. Responds to and triages critical equipment alarms and makes repairs as necessary. Repair and maintain utility systems equipment, such as, pumps, valves, steam systems, vacuum pumps, compressors, water softeners and heat exchangers. Notify management of all recognized equipment repairs. Clean and maintain equipment and work areas. Engage in collaborative efforts by team members from all craft shops to resolve problems and repair/upgrade deficiencies in the utility systems. Communicate with team members to identify needs for improvement. Water quality analysis and/or recording of data on: MD Anderson main City of Houston water surge tanks Chlorine testing at EH&S designated locations. Hardness sampling of water softeners. RO/DI sampling of all soft-water systems. Domestic hot water systems. A/C chilled water and heating hot water closed-loop systems. All completed work meets professional standards of cleanliness, maintenance and safety in accordance with work instructions Coordinates regulatory inspections by external agencies. Coordinates work. May order materials and maintain inventory. Participates in the development of the "Owners Design Guidelines", project design phases and review processes. Inspects contracted work to ensure repairs and installations are compliant. Functions as a point of contact for vendors. Prepares and submits reports. Participates in process improvement initiatives. May precept staff. Investigates outages. Interprets and works from instructions, blueprints, sketches and diagrams in the installation of utility systems. Respond to customer calls and provide customer services. Communicate on an ongoing basis with customers and clients to determine current status of deliverables and to learn about customer needs. Provide complete information to accurately document corrective action, labor hours, and materials used on work orders. Timely communication to supervisor of any other issues encountered during the performance of work. Emergency responses for facilities including code red alarms. Other duties as assigned Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Four years of electronic, building automated systems and pneumatic controls experience to include two years of electrical experience. With Journeyman Electrician's license, two years of electronic, building automated systems and pneumatic controls experience to include one year of electrical experience Preferred: Universal EPA, TDLR Certified HVAC License, TDLR HVAC Contractors License, or Electrical License.
