RSW Graduate Assistant
The position is a 10 month position, includes a full tuition waiver for the M.Ed Higher Education Leadership program, and a $11,000 stipend paid monthly. There is also an opportunity to have housing provided with this role if approved by Housing and Residence Life. Professional Development funding is also available. Offers for this position must be made in conjunction with acceptance into the M.Ed Higher Education Leadership program. The Graduate Assistant will report to the Associate Director of RSW and serve as a mentor and leader to all undergraduate student staff and assist with the Recreational Sports & Wellness department on the day to day operations. Overall, the Graduate Assistant will be providing the Mercer University students, faculty, and staff with a positive, fun, healthy, and competitive recreational sports activities and programs. A majority of his/her responsibilities will pertain to the Intramural Sports and Club Sports programs, but may have other tasks in other programs (Fitness, Aquatics, and Outdoor Activities). Job Qualifications Highly organized individual Proactive Completed two or more years of experience as an intramural sports official Ability to train and supervise employees Certification for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED or ability to obtain certification within the first month Job Responsibilities Require to work on average, 20 hours per week with a few weekends required Maintain a satisfactory GPA in the M.Ed. Educational Leadership program Oversee the daily operations of the Intramural Sports office. This includes assisting with staff schedules, program events, and officials trainings Recruit, hire, mentor, train, and develop undergraduate student staff (Student Directors, Supervisors, Officials) Collaborate with other campus departments (Residence Life, Campus Life, Student Organizations) Develop, evaluate, and enforce the policies and procedures through consultation with professionals and staff Oversee management of our RSW website and social media pages Coordinate marketing ideas and presentations for the program Educate risk management practices to our student staff and participants Provide a professional presence during RSW events, which includes nights and weekends Assist in the managing of department's budget with the Assistant Director Lead CPR/AED/First Aid certification classes Attend conferences and tournaments to promote the university and program Scheduled Hours:
