We are currently seeking to add a Senior Environmental Project Geologist or Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bend, Oregon. Apex is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and detail-focused individual who is interested in joining a growing and high-performing team. Our Bend Environmental group handles a diverse workload consisting of remedial investigations/feasibility studies (RI/FS), Phase I and II due diligence, stormwater monitoring/compliance, landfill monitoring, and site remediation/cleanup projects. This position involves project and technical task management; design and oversight for soil and groundwater remediation systems; work plan preparation and general consulting for multi-media environmental compliance projects. The ability to work with multiple contractor teams, serve as a project manager, and interface with regulatory agencies are key elements for this position. We seek a self-starter with a solid foundation of technical knowledge and a demonstrated ability to manage teams to solve complex problems. Primary Job Responsibilities Project Management includes client-facing communication, workflow schedules, project staffing, subcontractor management, and budget management. Develop scope and fee proposals and communicate directly with clients on project implementation. Manage large and complex tasks to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality. Interface with regulatory agencies in support of project goals. Plan and coordinate environmental assessments, remediation, and compliance projects in the field and office. Prepare and deliver technical reports (e.g., site characterization, work plans, remedial investigation, feasibility study, annual monitoring reports, and other reports) in support of environmental assessment, investigation, and remediation projects. Technical review of environmental assessments, hydrogeologic studies, landfill monitoring and cleanup projects. Interpret geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university. State of Oregon licensure as a Registered Geologist (RG) or Engineer (PE) or ability to quickly obtain Oregon license. 12 plus years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on project management, site investigation, environmental remediation, due diligence projects, groundwater evaluation, and landfill compliance monitoring. 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate (with current 8-hour annual refresher course certification) or willingness to obtain. Knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations. Proven well-developed technical writing skills for delivery of client proposals and project reports, including Phase I ESA, Phase II ESA, Remedial Investigation, Feasibility Study, Corrective Action Work Plans and Site Closure Reports, and Annual Environmental Monitoring Reports. Exceptional interpersonal skills allowing for positive internal, client, and contractor relationships. Self-motivated to set appropriate priorities and effectively manage their time to support the success of their team. Shows ability to listen and seeks to understand viewpoints of others. Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record. Desirable Qualifications Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining clear communication with clients and colleagues. Proven experience with landfill monitoring and reporting programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

including technical writing. Data compilation/interpretation; management and reporting of field data. Ability to manage and mentor junior staff members.
