Behavior Interventionist (Response to Intervention) at Kate Furbish Elementary School Overview of the Position: Tier 3 general education intervention for significant behavioral, social-emotional and academic needs that are currently not able to be addressed within the general classroom setting, and may or may not indicate the need for future special education services. Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with SEL team to identify needs and interventions for students as well as supports for teachers Work as part of a collaborative team to address Tier 3-level behavior (safety concerns, and significant disruption to the classroom and/or school environment) Provide intensive intervention to students identified through Child Find Provide evidence-based instruction/intervention in 1:1, small group and classroom settings Desired Candidates Will: Have successful early elementary instructional and behavioral experience Have experience working with students with significant social and emotional, behavioral challenges Have a demonstrated ability to design behavior intervention plans Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of young learners Effectively plan and implement approved elementary curriculum Be a flexible and creative problem solver Work collaboratively with different teams of teachers throughout the school Recommended Maine State Department of Education Certifications: Ideally 282 Teacher of Children with Disabilities Certification and/or 020 Elementary Teacher Certification and/or 029 Early Elementary Teacher Certification
