Recycling Technician
Responsible for general duties involving physical sorting and handling of product, materials, supplies and equipment while maintaining an orderly and clean work area that is in compliance with company safety and sanitation requirements. Daily use of a gas or electric forklift to move materials. Essential Functions: Sorts, bales, stacks, and separates various types of recyclable materials including wood pallets, metal scrap, plastic and fiber Manages recycling area wastewater accumulation and disposal Stacks and loads like material pallets Manages incoming and outgoing material flow Cleans equipment and work area in accordance with company sanitation requirements Maintains Community Recycling Depot and assists employees with navigating proper disposal Upholds Pacific Foods' goal of being a Leading Corporate Citizen through improving company recovery rate Operate Xcycler Operate balers Organize and sort pallets Weekly cleaning and keeping Master Sanitation Board up to date Dump trash in dumpsters Clean recycle totes, chemical totes, and drums Swap all confidential paper bins Breakdown tomato totes Secondary Functions: Manages satellite recycling accumulation areas located throughout the facility Manages miscellaneous recycling items and stores in appropriate bins Maintains employee recycling depot Schedules vendor pick-up of recyclable materials Logs vendor pick-ups and deliveries Keeps records of material transactions Cleans recycling totes thoroughly for continuous use Maintains hazardous waste accumulation area Responsible for reporting maintenance issues to MH Lead immediately Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is not supervisory in nature. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand and follow safety procedures Knowledge of light equipment operation including forklifts and balers Ability to communicate effectively with recycling team and supervisor Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects up to 50lbs Ability to work effectively in a small team environment Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Minimum Qualifications: High School degree or equivalent. 6 months of previous manufacturing experience required. Previous food manufacturing experience is a plus. Working conditions: Work is subject to periodic overtime, heavy lifting, exposure to hazardous materials, exposure to high voltage and constant standing. The noise level is usually moderate to loud. Periodic work in all weather conditions is also required. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
