Job Overview:
A Surgical Tech First Assistant, also known as a First Assistant Surgical Technologist, provides advanced support to surgeons during complex surgical procedures. In this role, they assist with preoperative tasks such as preparing the operating room and sterilizing instruments, and during surgery, they play a key role by directly aiding the surgeon. Responsibilities include handling and manipulating tissue, suturing incisions, managing hemostasis, and ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available. They also help with patient positioning and may assist in the documentation of surgical procedures. The position requires extensive knowledge of surgical techniques, strong manual dexterity, and the ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Licenses/Certificates: Operating Room Technician Certification required Current Basic Life Support certification required Compensation: Hourly Range - $20.00-$30.80 Incentives: Eligible for evening/night, weekend shift incentive based on company policies and applicable job codes. Additional details will be provided during the interview process. Bonus: Potential for a performance-based bonus, subject to eligibility criteria and achievement of defined metrics.
