Aquatics Senior Supervisor
Hersheypark amusement park spans 121-acres, and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20+ kiddie rides, as well as a zoo, and an entire water park. This role supervises both full-time attractions/aquatics training supervisors and part-time aquatics and attractions employees within the assigned area of responsibility in order to uphold safety and service standards and meet daily business needs. Job Duties: Act in assigned Attraction operational position, depending on level of experience or operational need (i.e. ride operator, lifeguard, Team Leader, etc.) Lead and direct attractions team members within the assigned area. Ensure each ride group or attraction has proper staffing and that all employees have proper training and documentation each shift. Assist in onboarding of staff to ensure proper training and preparation for part-time workers and supervisors Assist with department administrative duties as needed such as: complete audits, checklists, inspections, and any supporting documentation in accordance with Hersheypark policies and procedures. Lead the safe and effective operation of their assigned attraction(s) or ride. Monitor employees and provide on the spot coaching and direction as needed. Monitor workflow and make work assignments to maintain operational capacity of the attraction. Provide first line support for guest issues and escalate advanced issues as needed. Respond to or assist with ride breakdowns and other service interruptions, seeing to guest and employee safety. Ensure adherence to company protocols and complete any necessary documentation. Communicate with the Area Manager on any staffing or other issues or any operational trends. Act as lead to attractions or aquatics training supervisors. Report trends, issues, or concerns. Participate in seasonal event set-ups and other themed projects as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 18 years of age or older. Minimum of 2 years of related experience Industry Experience - Amusement Park Completion of high school or GED Must have a valid Drivers' License This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug test. Post-Employment - Applicants must attend and complete Jeff Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Shallow Water and Instructor Trainings within 12 months of onboarding. Must obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certifications. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to swim 200 yards using crawl or breaststroke without resting. Must be able complete a feet-first surface dive to retrieve a ten (10) pound brick to the surface. Must be able to tread water without the use of arms for two (2) minutes. Must be able to safely exit the pool without use of stairs, ladders, or zero-depth entry. Must be comfortable with potential exposure to bodily fluids and other spills. Ability to handle stressful working conditions, emergencies, and to accept a high degree of accountability. Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally, including delivering safety instructions/directions, verbal cues, and speaking clearly into microphones and radios. Must have the ability to effectively communicate nonverbally, including maintaining eye contact and giving/receiving safety hand signals. Must have the ability to comprehend instructions (verbal, demonstrated, and/or written) and retain information. Must have the ability to remain alert and vigilant at all times. Must be able to successfully attend and complete all department training requirements. Must display a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines. Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions for more than one hour including, but not limited to: extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, wind, humidity, and inclement weather. The position is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Work is almost exclusively outdoors. The position is subject to outside environmental conditions. No effective protection from the weather. This position is subject to loud noises. Occasional work in high places (up to 300 feet) and climbing stairs is required. The position is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Must have normal vision (20/25 or 20/25 corrected) and be free of permanent abnormalities of either eye.
