Engineer, Process Advanced
Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc. seeks an Engineer, Process Advanced in Laredo, Texas. This position requires international and domestic travel, as needed, up to 60%. Works closely with Cooper Standard's manufacturing facilities to reduce cost, improve quality and achieve advancements in both process and product technology. Leads the research and implementation of new or improved equipment/tooling/processes to satisfy changing production requirements. Works with outside machinery suppliers, machine shops, plant engineering and maintenance in these efforts. Assists in the validation of new processes as necessary. May be required to obtain/negotiate approval or revisions to customer product specifications. Initiates projects and tasks through creative insight, leveraging manufacturing and product knowledge. Confirms feasibility/capability of proposed product/process improvements using statistical methods. Assists in the transfer of product and process between manufacturing facilities. Understanding of Cooper Standard product lines outside of your main discipline. For assigned technologies, will act as communicative link between CS technical and manufacturing sites, including other global regions, for the purpose of process development, best practice exchange, standardization, etc. Mentor associate program engineers. Understands best practices, processes and customers. Keeps current on developments related to manufacturing and product technology through meetings with suppliers, customers, trade publications, etc. May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description. Bachelor's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field and two (2) years of experience as an Automotive Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or related occupation. Experience must include: Experience with Microsoft Office (Excell, Word, Access,Outlook), MP2, and SAP. Experience with Six Signa Certification. Experience with Lean Manufacturing. Experience with project management. Experience in Process, Configuration and Equipment for extrusion Line for Rubber (EPDM) and Plastic Lines (TPV, PP, TPE, PVC). Experience with Injection Molding Development. Experience with PLC programming. Experience with Electrical control troubleshooting.
