Administrator, Inpatient Medical Oncology

The Administrator, Inpatient Medical Oncology (Administrator) has direct responsibility for supervising, organizing, and facilitating the daily operations and financial performance of the BWH and DFCI inpatient medical oncology services. The Administrator reports directly to the DOM Senior Director of Clinical Operations and indirectly to the Executive Director of the Brigham Cancer Center. He/she will also provide support and information to the various Oncology stakeholders within the inpatient service at both BWH and DFCI. The Administrator will manage the Oncology Project Analyst within DOM. Principal duties and responsibilities include: Supervising, organizing, and facilitating the daily operations of the inpatient medical oncology services. Ensuring BWH credentialing (physician and PA) for the service is complete and maintained with a high level of efficiency. Supporting the development of clinical programs and initiatives. Preparing reports and analyses for various stakeholders. Engaging with clinical leaders to support development and proactive management of coverage models. In concert with quality and compliance leadership, providing administrative oversight of inpatient quality and regulatory activities. Collaborating with the Senior Director of Clinical Operations' team on various projects. Working with the oncology inpatient team and DFCI ambulatory leaders/teams to implement initiatives that support patients' transitions from inpatient to outpatient or vice versa. Working with the DFCI PA leadership team regarding all aspects of the PA program. Leading or participating in special projects and performing all required tasks. Developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance with policies and procedures mandated by institutional and regulatory entities. Recruiting, developing, retaining, and providing managerial and administrative oversight of all staff. Serving on department or hospital-wide committees and facilitating meetings as assigned. Consistently meeting all deadlines for deliverables or activities. Other duties and responsibilities include: Working within legal, regulatory, accreditation, and ethical practice standards. Following safe practices required for the position. Complying with appropriate policies and procedures. Bringing potential matters of non-compliance to the attention of the supervisor or other appropriate hospital staff. Qualifications
- 5-7 years of administrative experience in healthcare required, preferably in an academic medical center environment, with increasing responsibility. - 3-5 years of direct supervisory experience of a multiple-employee team required. - Oncology experience preferred. Demonstrated experience in operations, project management, and reporting. - Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred, or greater than 10 years of health care administration experience considered.
