tip sheet . The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Department of Pediatrics- Mailman Center for Child Development has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Therapist to work in Miami. The Therapist provides a full range of therapeutic care as prescribed by the University and federal policies and procedures in carrying out duties and responsibilities. Moreover, the Therapist demonstrates familiarity with a variety of assessment techniques including methodologies and skills training. An employee in this position relates and interacts well with patients relative to their age specific, physical, and psychosocial needs. Core Responsibilities: Interviews, evaluates, and assesses the needs of patients, and develops treatment plans. Works in conjunction with multidisciplinary service teams to ensure implementation of coordinated psychosocial services as it relates to program participants' needs. Prepares progress notes, reports and correspondence. Maintains case records confidential. Conducts ongoing individual, groups, and family counseling sessions with patients. Completes psychosocial evaluations, assesses psychological disorders, prepares comprehensive clinical summaries, and makes treatment recommendations. Interprets psychological or psychiatric case information from patients interviewed and from medical or psychiatric sources. Assists with the recordation of data and statistics. Serves as program liaison to collaborating service providers, the courts, and treatment centers. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Department Specific Functions: Provide Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to children with various psychological, learning, developmental, and/or behavioral problems. PCIT is a live coaching model of treatment for children with disruptive behaviors and children at-risk for child maltreatment. In addition, therapist will be responsible for delivery of services in person- and via telehealth. Interviews, evaluates, and assesses the needs of patients, and develops treatment plans. Works in conjunction with multidisciplinary service teams to ensure implementation of coordinated psychosocial services as it relates to program participants' needs. Due to potential participant families who may seek services in English, Spanish or Creole, delivery of services in English and either Spanish or Creole language preferred but not required. Case management will consist of providing linkage community resources to families as needed. Documentation will include writing timely intake reports, progress notes, treatment summaries, and other case related items. Data entry will include entering required data related to family participation in therapy sessions, including session level data, and scores from a variety of psychological and health-related measures. Provide phone/email/on-site clinical and case-management consultations with families. Maintains case records confidential. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Duties and Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to children with various psychological, learning, developmental, and/or behavioral problems. Scores program metric measures Enters UM PCIT related data into appropriate databases/systems (e.g., REDCap, etc.) Provides friendly, efficient, and professional telephone, email, and office contact with UM PCIT participants and community agency personnel Prepares assessment and/or training packets containing appropriate measures/forms Other duties as assigned by the UM PCIT Director and team leaders Assist with manuscript preparation by contributing to literature reviews, writing assigned sections of manuscripts, and/or completing bibliographies Some travel between sites will be required Case management will consist of providing linkage community resources to families as needed. Provide phone/email/on-site clinical and case-management consultations with families. Weekly program supervision and clinical supervision required. Core Job Functions: Bachelor's degree in relevant field Minimum 1 year of relevant experience Certification in relevant specialty or field Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred (reading, writing, speaking) Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Ability to understand and follow instructions.
