Project Manager

Aptive is seeking a Project Manager to lead and coordinate large, multi-element healthcare audit engagements performed under the Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book). You will oversee the full project life cyclefrom kickoff through close-outensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and compliance objectives are met while managing project risk and stakeholder expectations. Primary Responsibilities

Develop project charter, work breakdown structure, and integrated master schedule. Define resource plan, budget baseline, quality controls, and risk register. Establish governance framework aligned with GAGAS independence and quality-management requirements. Direct multidisciplinary audit teams (auditors, clinicians, statisticians, data scientists). Track earned value metrics, critical path, and contract deliverables; manage scope change. Facilitate weekly status reviews, manage vendor/partner relationships, and resolve impediments. Enforce engagement-level quality-control processes, including work-paper reviews and milestone gating. Verify adherence to GAGAS fieldwork & reporting standards; interface with internal/external peer reviewers. Serve as primary point of contact for contracting officer, VA/VHA leadership, and internal executives. Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks affecting schedule, cost, or audit conclusions. Prepare executive briefings, issue/risk logs, corrective-action plans, and lessons-learned artifacts. Obtain formal acceptance of deliverables, reconcile budget, and archive project documentation. Lead post-engagement reviews; capture improvement opportunities for future task orders. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field At least 5 years of end-to-end project management experience on complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives. 3 years directing large-scale healthcare audits under GAGAS, delivering final reports on time and within budget. Project-management frameworks (PMBOK, Agile hybrid, or equivalent). Budget forecasting, contract cost control, and earned-value analysis. Risk, schedule, and stakeholder management tools (MS Project, Primavera, Jira, or similar). Familiarity with VA/VHA environments, clinical operations, and audit quality requirements.
