Job Family: Student Work Study Department: Tarver Library Supervisor: Daniel Williams Job Title: Archives Student Assistant Job Description: These students work in the Archives department of Tarver Library and must be able to work selected hours between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Evenings and weekends are NOT available. Duties may include data entry, copying and filing, print/microfilm/online research, clerical tasks, retrieving/re-shelving materials, processing materials and preparing finding aids, answering phone and routing calls/taking messages, preparing displays, other duties as assigned. Moderately heavy lifting required. **This is a Federal Work Study position open ONLY to Mercer University students who have been granted a work study award.** Thoroughness, accuracy, attention to detail, and reliability are essential. Patience and persistence are also qualities needed for portions of this job that become repetitive or routine. Must be a team player and able to work well with little supervision. The applicant must be customer service oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to lift, load, and push materials. Typing skills and computer experience preferred, as is experience with historical, primary sources. $10.50/hour, $0.25 raise each academic year Scheduled Hours: 10 Start Date: 08/19/2025 End Date: 05/02/2026
