The Cloud Engineer II role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the organizations cloud infrastructure and solutions, developing and optimizing cloud-based applications and services, automating cloud operations, ensuring security and compliance, and providing technical mentorship and support. Essential Functions: Design, implement, and maintain the organizations cloud infrastructure and solutions for scalability, performance, and reliability. Develop and optimize cloud-based applications and services, ensuring adherence to best practices, industry standards, and cloud provider guidelines. Monitor and manage the cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage systems, networking components, and related services. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications, providing expert-level support and guidance to junior engineers and development teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data engineers, security teams, and infrastructure teams, to ensure seamless integration and compatibility. Automate cloud operations, including deployment, monitoring, backup/recovery, and incident response processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools. Develop and maintain cloud automation scripts, IaC templates, and applications, adhering to coding best practices and security protocols. Provide technical mentorship and training to junior engineers and teams on cloud technologies and best practices. Ensure the security, privacy, and compliance of cloud infrastructure and applications, implementing industry-standard security controls and policies. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), cloud architecture, and cloud services (e.g., compute, storage, networking, databases, security). Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash), and experience with automation tools. Understanding of cloud best practices, security protocols, and compliance standards. Experience with cloud infrastructure management tools, monitoring solutions, and cloud integration. Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills for complex cloud issues.
