Coordinator Of Campus Activities

Student Affairs at Penn State Wilkes-Barre is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Coordinator of Campus Activities. This position reports to the Director of Student Services and Engagement working within a collaborative team environment within Student Affairs and across the Wilkes-Barre campus. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated individual with a desire to serve others while supporting a campus learning environment with a mission of student success. Typical duties include: Designing, implementing, and evaluating social, educational, and service-learning programs and activities focused on specific student engagement goals and learning outcomes. Interpreting and articulating University policies for students and student organizations. Providing conflict resolution and crises intervention strategies for student groups and organizations. Administering the Student Code of Conduct to include hearing judicial cases and serving on hearing boards. Providing guidance to all recognized student organizations based on Penn State standards and providing training and support for all faculty and staff organization advisors. Organizing and conducting workshops to build and enhance student leadership skills and abilities. Co-advising the Student Government Association. Negotiating and processing University and vendor entertainment and service contracts for student activities and events. Marketing departmental and student events and managing the utilization of print media, social media, web, and texting technologies. Planning and implementing Welcome Week activities and training Welcome Week Leaders. Managing department budget and allocated grant funding. Supervision of student employees. Represent the unit in on and off campus committees, forums, and other opportunities as appropriate. This position is a 12-month exempt position working 40 hours a week. The position does require some evening and weekend programming responsibilities and some out-of-town travel for university and campus sponsored events. Minimum education, work experience, and required certifications: Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required certifications: None. Background checks/clearances: This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. Salary and benefits: The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
