Stand-Up Forklift Driver
Location: Nashville, TN Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $18 - $20 an hour Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Operations Manager Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Stand-Up Forklift Driver to join our Sporting Goods Distribution Center team. This role is responsible for efficiently moving, organizing, and handling inventory using stand-up forklifts to ensure timely order fulfillment and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate has experience operating stand-up forklifts in a fast-paced distribution or warehouse setting and is committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities
Operate stand-up forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve sporting goods and equipment. Load and unload shipments from trucks and place products in designated storage locations. Pick and stage orders according to shipment schedules. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance checks. Assist with inventory management by scanning and tracking product movement. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment. Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines to prevent accidents or product damage. Support other warehouse duties as needed, such as packing, order picking, and pallet wrapping. Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Experience:
1+ year of experience operating a stand-up forklift in a warehouse or distribution center preferred. Technical Skills:
Ability to operate stand-up forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely. Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and barcode scanning.
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and within a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment with varying temperatures. Ability to stand, bend, and operate machinery for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
Valid forklift certification
(or willingness to obtain company-sponsored certification). Experience working in a sporting goods distribution center or similar warehouse environment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners. Benefits
