We have an opportunity for a Part-Time (Benefits Eligible) Radiology Technologist in our OrthoCarolina Foot & Ankle office in Charlotte, NC. This position is scheduled to work 8 hours per day on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between the hours of 8am-5p. The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards. Essential Functions: Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy. Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns. Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provides patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods. Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed. Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department. Compliance with all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures. Assists with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department. Assist with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor. Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment, (i.e. Siemens/GE/Philips). Skill in proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems. Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor. Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs. Observes safety and security procedures. Qualifications: Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association. Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background. Professional license or certification requirements: Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible. Current CPR certification recommended.
