Pay Rate: $52,000 starting salary Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Participate in the timely and accurate submission and transmittal of payroll, including but not limited to batch import/exports, batch audit, data entry/audit and receive / load payroll check detail and summary report output files Perform the duties of the Payroll Specialist and provides daily direction and assistance regarding payroll processes Maintain data validation tables, adjustment rules, default position profiles, labor levels, etc. Complete payroll reconciliations and prepare payroll general ledger journal entries Perform audits to ensure team members are paid correctly Create or modify queries to research and retrieve information Compile and create reports for internal and external business partners Assist team members and time card reviewers with payroll questions/concerns Provide backup to the Payroll Supervisor and assist in the resolution of non-routine issues Monitor and update payroll department/process procedures and contribute to development of payroll related policies and procedures Acts as liaison between departments to maintain good working relationships Knowledge And Certification, Skills And Abilities: Required Knowledge And Certification: 2 year degree in Accounting or related field and 3 years' experience managing a payroll cycle from start to finish; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education Previous ADP / Workforce Now experience Preferred Knowledge And Certification: Previous Kronos workforce management experience Previous experience having processed a weekly payroll for 1000+ employees Required Skills: Ability to solve arithmetic problems quickly, and to cross-reference and cross-check numbers repeatedly and frequently Effectively manage time and prioritization to ensure deadlines are met Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills with close attention to detail in order to effectively monitor progress and complete assignments effectively and accurately Demonstrate initiative and self-direction to perform a variety of simultaneous skills (multi-tasking) Ability to analyze data and identify reporting errors Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities Strong computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Windows Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Preferred Skills: Leadership skills to direct the work of others Required Abilities: Ability to work fast and efficiently Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner Ability to independently complete multiple tasks in a professional manner Ability to serve both internal and external customers Physical Demands: Must be able to sit for long periods of time with infrequent amounts of walking and standing Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend, kneel and stoop infrequently Must be able to reach and twist infrequently Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects occasionally Must have the ability to independently lift up to 10 pounds occasionally Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions Must have good eye hand coordination Working Environment: Work is performed primarily in administration building but may include going onto the gaming floor, which includes flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays Extensive computer use Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
