As an Associate, Product Development
Fine Jewelry, you will support the creation and execution of seasonal product strategies across jewelry lines and brands like Jennifer Fisher. In collaboration with cross-functional teamsincluding Design, Merchandising, Production, and overseas officesyou will help ensure timely, profitable, and high-quality product launches aligned with brand aesthetics and business objectives. Strategy & Innovation Execute seasonal product development plans in alignment with brand, category, and seasonal strategies. Identify and recommend new product opportunities, materials, and sourcing options to elevate brand positioning and innovation. Product Development Review and validate all tech packs and BOMs for accuracy, quality, cost, and production feasibility. Collaborate with Design and Technical teams to refine construction, materials, and specs to balance aesthetics with cost and performance. Manage sample development calendars to ensure on-time delivery of prototypes, market samples, and pre-production samples. Serve as liaison between Design, OSOs, and vendorsensuring clarity on specifications, changes, and brand standards. Track and monitor all development samples and materials; ensure brand consistency through accurate PLM documentation. Review prototypes and samples for quality, design fidelity, and manufacturability; ensure smooth handoff to production. Assist in negotiating material and finished goods costs in line with margin goals and sourcing strategy. Product Integrity & Compliance Uphold product integrity from development through production by applying quality and compliance standards. Assess components for performance, durability, and compliance with customs and restricted substances regulations. Partner with Quality, Technical, and Compliance teams to proactively address potential risks or material concerns. Ensure testing of high-risk materials and treatments during development to mitigate production or customer issues. Sourcing & Vendor Management Support sourcing of new materials and suppliers to meet seasonal needs, design direction, and cost targets. Partner with internal Materials teams and external vendors to identify viable manufacturing and sourcing solutions. Build relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to maintain a reliable and flexible partner base. Support vendor allocation decisions to ensure optimal quality, cost, delivery, and capacity diversification. Operations & Results Manage and adjust development timelines to align with calendar milestones and ensure timely product execution. Collaborate cross-functionally to meet deadlines for market samples, costing, and production readiness. Participate in key meetings (e.g., product reviews, cost evaluations, seasonal recaps) and ensure legal and compliance documentation is accurate and up to date. Stakeholder Collaboration Maintain clear, proactive communication with internal teams, overseas offices, vendors, and licensors. Support production and technical partners in sourcing and vendor development efforts. Leadership & Team Contribution Contribute to a collaborative, solution-oriented team environment. Effectively manage up, escalate risks, and support problem-solving initiatives. Provide input on ways to enhance operational efficiencies and product development best practices Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have
Fine Jewelry experience required Degree or certification in Gemology is a plus Strong understanding of accessory manufacturing, wholesale operations, and global supply chain dynamics. Bachelors degree preferred Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PLM systems; knowledge of Illustrator, Rhino, and SAP is a plus. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and adept at managing multiple priorities. Creative problem-solver with strong commercial and design sensibility.
