Digital Workspace Engineering Senior Manager
Are you passionate about engineering solutions and solving problems in the Virtual Desktop and End User Compute space? Do you want to design and implement modern delivery methods for our ever-expanding end user workspace? Then the Digital Workspace Engineering Senior Manager role at Freddie Mac may be perfect for you! The selected candidate will be responsible for leading a team that is engineering solutions in the Digital Workspace environment at Freddie Mac. You will be expected to collaborate across technical teams and work with business partners to ensure systems are resilient, scalable, reliable and business objectives are met. As a leader you will be expected to think strategically, lead effectively and deliver operational excellence. Our team is responsible for supporting the hardware, software, and optimization of the Digital Workspace environment and its related virtual desktop endpoints. The group suggests adjustments and new system designs for future needs with a key focus on end-user experience. Direct experience leading an engineering team working on VDI system delivery. Hands-on experience with configuring and administering Horizon 8 or newer systems. Support our working knowledge of security best practices relating to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, and endpoints. Lead the engineering team's ability to support our large deployment and document processes and procedures. Partner with other groups for cross-team collaboration and solution delivery involving complicated systems and security requirements. Perform periodic control executions related to Digital Workspace processes to ensure compliance and resiliency of the platform. Provide technical excellence and perform special projects and initiatives as assigned. Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of relevant systems engineering experience in large enterprises. 2+ years of direct management experience. 5+ years of relevant work experience with Virtual Desktop environments, preferably VMware/Omnissa Horizon. Application delivery experience using AppVolumes in the Enterprise, to include configuration, version management and settings to comply with organizational policies. Strong background providing user support. Ability to transform business requirements to infrastructure requirements. Promote culture of accountability, trust and transparency within the team and organization. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Great customer service and interpersonal skills. Relationship builder inside and outside of the Digital Workspace group. Must be flexible, dependable, and capable of multitasking and quickly learning new products and technologies. Understanding of desktop packaging, distribution and provisioning technologies specifically within a virtual desktop environment.
