REACH (Resources for Academic Achievement) invites applications for Part-Time Lecturer (PTL) instructors for GEN 103: Special Topics in College Mathematics for Non-STEM Majors for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. These courses are 3 credit hours (part of the College of Arts & Sciences) and are taught using the emporium-instructional model (no lecture). This position involves direct instruction and individualized instruction, via computer assisted learning, for students who do not meet college readiness indicators. Course topics are determined by an individual assessment of algebra skills and may include operations with real numbers and fractions, polynomials, linear equations, inequalities, and systems of equations. Sample course syllabi, lesson plans, Hawkes learning modules (computer assisted instruction), Blackboard shells, and other resources will be provided. PTLs will be supported throughout the experience, including a required training before the semester begins, a required debrief at the end of the course, occasional individual meetings with the course administrator, and optional weekly instructor support meetings. The majority of the course sessions are in-person on Belknap Campus, but some asynchronous online sections may be available. Instructors are expected to utilize Blackboard to submit a finalized course syllabus, provide developmentally meaningful feedback, present engaging learning experiences, respond to students in a timely manner, communicate regularly with the course administrator, submit final grades within university deadlines, and comply with university requirements. Qualifications: Master's degree or 18+ hours of graduate coursework completed from an accredited institution and an undergraduate degree in mathematics, math education, or Engineering. Previous instructional experience preferred. Please submit resume/CV, graduate college transcripts, and a cover letter. Your cover letter should address the reason for your interest, interest in teaching college students, and any relevant teaching or facilitation experience.
