International Distribution Center Supervisor

Responsible for the daily execution and oversight of international shipping operations, with a primary focus on hazardous materials (Hazmat) compliance, export documentation, quality control, and strict process adherence. Ensures alignment with global regulatory standards, carrier requirements, and internal policies to maintain shipment integrity and prevent delays. This role requires strong leadership in international logistics, proven experience managing export functions, and the ability to develop high-performing teams through structured coaching, training, and accountability. Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability is highly desirable to support team communication and external coordination. Prior experience with Blue Yonder WMS is preferred but not required. The International Supervisor will be expected to proactively solve problems, audit processes, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate across departments to ensure operational excellence in international shipments. Additional responsibilities include team scheduling, exception handling, adherence to trade compliance protocols, and maintaining all relevant records for audits and reporting. Other duties may be assigned. Directly manage hourly international shipping team members. Principal Responsibilities

Direct daily operations for all international outbound shipments, with emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and on-time performance.

Ensure full compliance with international shipping regulations, including IATA/IMDG/49 CFR for hazardous materials (Hazmat).

Oversee preparation and accuracy of export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, SLI, etc.).

Enforce and monitor adherence to internal SOPs, carrier requirements, and country-specific shipping regulations.

Lead performance management for international team members, including training, coaching, and timely performance reviews.

Partner with Quality and Compliance teams to drive audit readiness and ensure alignment with internal standards and customer expectations.

Identify and resolve shipment issues, customs delays, and exceptions, escalating as appropriate.

Utilize available systems (Blue Yonder, SAP, etc.) to track KPIs, maintain accurate records, and identify trends or discrepancies.

Develop and improve standard work processes to reduce errors and improve turnaround times.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Inbound, Customer Service, Quality, Planning, and Trade Compliance to ensure successful handoffs and issue resolution.

Maintain 5S standards and a safe work environment in accordance with company policies. Education / Experience Requirements

Strong knowledge of international shipping practices and regulations, including Hazmat classification and documentation.

Proven ability to coach and lead teams in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish highly desired.

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on documentation, process control, and compliance.

Working knowledge of warehouse management systems; Blue Yonder WMS preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); SAP experience a plus.

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and root cause analysis capabilities Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.

35+ years of direct international logistics or shipping supervisory experience required.

Hazmat certification or experience handling hazardous goods required.

Experience with export documentation and working knowledge of international trade regulations required.

Blue Yonder WMS experience preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable. Ability to work overtime and extended work hours as required
