Accounting Manager

This position will be responsible for all matters related to property accounting for existing assets surrounding the fixed asset life cycle for Power delivery (i.e. transmission and distribution). This individual will be responsible for delivery of accounting, financial and regulatory reporting for fixed assets consistent with compliance requirements from multiple regulators (SEC, FPSC, FERC, PUCT) and business partners with the objective of maximizing value to customers and shareholders. The manager will work with the Director to ensure that the financial systems and asset sub ledger enable the required accounting in the most efficient and effective manner. Additionally, this leader ensures that the operating business units are provided strong and timely consultative support as necessary to enable their achievement of goals and objectives while ensuring that the financial data provided from the upstream Business Unit ("BU") work management systems is reasonable and properly reflected in the financial statements of the enterprise Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Regulatory Experience Job Overview Employees in this job manage and coordinate a unique accounting function and lead complex accounting projects. Job Duties & Responsibilities Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP and FERC, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial position of the Company Provides accounting oversight to businesses and departments within the Company and ensures proper controls are in place for accurate financial reporting Ensures financial data integrity through the implementation and maintenance of a strong control environment Keeps abreast of, and applies GAAP, SEC regulations, and relevant company policies, practices, and procedures Manages professional staff, and effectively communicates and executes performance management Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Experience: 8+ years Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Master's - Business Administration
